WHAT IS MESOTHERAPY?

Using very fine needles, Mesotherapy introduces microscopic quantities of pharmaceuticals, vitamins and minerals into the skin to help it rejuvenate and repair itself. These injections were pioneered by French physician, Dr. Michel Pistor in 1952.

Mesotherapy is a versatile treatment allowing the tailored application of vitamins and nutrients to specific layers of the skin to remedy a range of skin concerns. WHAT IS MICROBOTOX® ?

The Micro-Botox procedure delivers youthful results to your skin without paralysing the muscles like the classic Botox anti-wrinkle injections. Rather than targeting specific expressive muscle groups of the face such as the frown or forehead, Micro-Botox delivers a reduced dose of Botox which is diluted in a solution of skin hydrating agents resulting in a more natural, refreshed appearance of the face.

As the Botox is injected in smaller quantities more superficially into the skin layers, the action of this anti-ageing solution has a profound effect on the skin cells treated resulting in reduced pore size, a reduction in excessive skin oil secretion as well as the anti-ageing effect as fine lines are smoothed and skin texture refined.

 DOES DERMALUX® LED LIGHT THERAPY TREATMENT HURT?

LED Phototherapy is a painless and relaxing experience. Once the LED Light is activated following gentle skin cleansing, you will feel a soothing, warm feeling as the light energy is delivered.

WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED AFTERCARE ADVICE FOLLOWING DERMALUX® LED LIGHT THERAPY?

As LED therapy does not create photosensitivity, it is a safe treatment directly pre and post sun exposure. In fact, it is particularly beneficial at this time to strengthen and replenish the skin to repair damage caused by UV exposure.

Everyone, regardless of skin type, should practice a complete sun protection strategy. The most essential part of your skin care routine is the application of SPF 30+ sunscreen on exposed areas of the skin including the face, neck and hands. Dr Ayanna Knight recommends applying sunscreen daily throughout the year, even on overcast and cloudy days.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE DERMALUX® LED LIGHT THERAPY?

A course of Dermalux® LED sessions offers corrective and lasting improvement in the appearance and health of the skin. The number of treatments can vary with age, skin type and condition. Following consultation and examination of your skin, Dr Ayanna Knight will advise on the most effective treatment course tailored to your individual needs.

For optimal results we recommend a course of treatments with sessions ideally 1-2 times weekly. As Dermalux® LED Light therapy does not harm the skin, there is no limit to the amount of treatments you can have. Following your initial course of Dermalux® LED sessions, maintenance sessions are advised to maintain the benefits gained from the initial course and continue to support skin health for long lasting results.

CAN I PROCEED WITH A TREATMENT ON THE SAME DAY AS CONSULTATION?

Following a full medical consultation including skin health & lifestyle assessment to ascertain suitability for treatment, Dr Ayanna Knight will advise on the most effective treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.

If no contraindications are identified for the treatment and you feel fully informed about the procedure, Dr Ayanna Knight will offer you the option to proceed with the treatment on the same day.
